Almost everybody has one or knows somebody that has one. The trouble is that most bread machines do not do a good job kneading whole grain bread dough with one exception: The Japanese engineered Zojirushi (Zohsheerooshee) Bread Machine. I know-Japanese! They love their home made bread! This sturdy bread machine will outlast most models on the market. Keep in mind, the life expectancy of an ‘average’ bread machine is only about 1 year. The Zojirushi is built to last longer. It comes in a standard horizontal two pound loaf size or a smaller compact 1 ½ pound loaf size. The only problem I have with bread machine bread is the crust-it tends to be very tough and dark. Some people like to take the dough out after it is kneaded and bake it in their own oven. The Zojirushi will also make meatloaf, cakes and pizza dough!
Bread Machine Kneading: Follow the manufacturer‘s directions for the whole grain bread cycle. You can take this dough out after it‘s kneaded and place it in your own bread pan to rise and bake in the oven. Keep in mind that the average life expectancy of a bread machine is 1 year.
The Zojirushi has a longer expectancy(I had one for 10 years before I sold it to a friend). You can make a 1 ½ or 2 pound sized loaf. This is a great machine to have if you don‘t want to heat up the kitchen in the summertime!
